Of the many Giulietta Spiders we published, very few, indeed probably none (at least as far as we can remember) were black.
And when we say black we mean born that way, certainly not repainted in the course of her life. Black is a color that according to me gives a lot to this car: we have seen a restored one with a red interior, and the effect is spectacular. Even more so, if it is a Veloce like this one, even if, in this case, work is needed, a lot of work. In fact, this car hasn’t moved since 1992 when the clutch broke.
At this moment a 1600cc (stuck) engine from a Giulia TI is installed, but there is also the corrected Veloce engine for this “interim” series (aka 750 LWB) even if it comes from a 1961 specimen, therefore not correct. Beyond that there is also the correct four-speed gearbox, separate from the car. The bodywork is in bad shape and, as already mentioned, it will take many hundreds of hours of work to restore this Veloce to its original splendor but, as always, it is a question of price. Find it for sale at $28,000 here in Brentwood, CA.
This is a new listing for the Veloce register!
Car looks to have a decent body and enough parts there to start a restoration.
I hope the new owner will keep me updated on the restoration. It will be a stunning ride when it is finished as black is a more rare color.
