It’s rare to spot a Glas GT in the U.S.A. as few were delivered into the country: you can imagine how many may have survived so far. This is one of those.
Tjis “typical” barn find is one of the last Glas produced: we believed that since late ’66 they were badged as BMW but this car looks a proper Glas, probably this car was produced ealier than its first registration. It has a 1682 cc, inline-four engine producing (when new) 100 hp, enough to push this little coupé to 110 m.p.h. (170 km/h).
Although the body need a quite amount of work, interiors look (according to what can be seen from here) good and origina; all the car actually looks original and not abused: the seller says he has also some rare parts like hubcaps and bumpers which often are missing on these cars. The price, considering the rarity of this car, looks fair. Find it for sale at $7,500 here in Sacramento, CA.
