The Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera is the direct heir of the “noble” 2.7 RS but, paradoxically, for many years no one has thought about it, perhaps only because of the bumpers.
The 2.7 RS is in fact part of the family of the so-called “Pre-bumpers”, that is the most sought-after 911s, while starting from 74 the bodywork received bumpers that complied with the standards of the United States vehicles. however, the engine that equipped the 2.7 Carrera was the same as the 2.7 RS, the legendary 911/83 type, capable of producing 210 horsepower in the European version.
Unfortunately, the American market imposed both safety and pollution standards, so the American version adopted an MFI that reduced pollution but also reduced power, which dropped to 175 horsepower. This car is matching numbers, namely # 138 of 548 imported into the USA. It has a worn look that cannot be called a “patina”, it would definitely deserve to be refreshed, also because it has a beautiful color combo. Find it for sale at $49,900 here in Miami, FL.
