Bayou burgundy: 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint

This car has been in the possession of the current owner for 23 years who says he has never driven it in the rain all this time – not surprising as we would have done the same.

It was sold new in Switzerland and then imported to the USA where, in 2015, it received a Burgundy paint (Red Amaranth, previously it was Bluette), engine and transmission were overhauled in 2003 at 65,952 miles. All gauges work, all lights, wipers, horn work. About the engine, there is something to say.

It is not the original engine but, from the point of view of performance and rarity, it is even better as it is a type 121 unit, the same mounted on the Giulia Spider Veloce and on the Sprint Speciale: we do not know if the carburetors are the correct DCOE2 but the engine itself is already worth $10-15K if it’s all right. The interior is in leather, probably redone, but very nice. Find it for sale here in Prairieville, LA, with bidding at $2,600 and reserve not met.
