If you want to start your own classic Alfa Romeo collection this could be a good starting point: two desirable cars in one lot.

The first is a Giulietta Spider 750 (one of the last 750 specimens produced) which is said to have been a Riverside racer (the seller has provided a period photo of the car during a race) which is actually equipped with a Giulia Spider type 112 engine but still has its original unit which is included in the lot.

The other car is a Giulietta Sprint 750 equipped with a Veloce engine (and that’s a nice feature also because such engine is a valuable item): this car is partially disassembled but i is said to be a complete car. Both cars are said to be very solid (actually they seem almost rustless) and straight: that means less financial effort for the metal work so more money spared for the red paint job. Find it for sale here in Farnham Surrey, UK, with a starting bid of £39,900 (today $52,500).

Dave Meridyth was a well known Alfa racer in the Los Angeles area and Alfa enthusiast. It would be interesting to know how these two cars got to England from Los Angeles. The seller doesn’t list the chassis numbers so it is hard to know if they are Veloce models. You have to register on EBay UK to send him a message to make inquiries.

You may want to reach out to Santo’s Italian Car Service for anything vintage Alfa, including information. Santo and his son Anthony have been deeply involved in the Southern California Alfa community for decades. Good luck.
