Direct progeny: 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ Coda Tronca

“This is my Giulietta SZ, there are many like her but this is mine”. We leave it to you to discover the inspiration of this sentence but, apart from the cinematic quotes, this actually seems a very special example.

Special for several reasons, just to begin with it is accompanied by a rich photographic documentation of its past, and we all know well that this type of documentation is worth as much as gold especially if we are talking about racing cars, and this car was delivered new no less than to Elio Zagato himself.

After that, this was a winning car, having finished in several races before and in general on the podium very often: in its first races it was also driven by Carlo Facetti, a well-known road racing driver at the time as well as a very good tuner. Then, this was modified with a nose similar to that of the Ferrari 250 GTO, and these modifications are also verified through photos from the time. Last but not least, it appears to have been almost perfectly restored. Of course it is a car for a few – from an economic point of view – and just to confirm it, the price is not stated. Find it for sale here in Kirkland, WA.
