Headache: 1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 O.T.S.

Should we talk about the E-Type Roadster in general? No, there is no need as we are talking more about an icon than a classic car in the strict sense.

But even the icons have their exceptions: the most appreciated series is certainly the first, that is the one characterized by covered headlights, while the displacement does not have much influence. Indeed, the 4.2-liter, built from 65 to 67, is even more popular as it has a more manageable synchronized gearbox than that fitted to the 3.8-liter.

This E-Type was definitely owned by someone who liked to go fast – it’s easily understandable when you notice the ANSA exhausts (we don’t know if they are intact, but today they would cost a fortune) and the SU carburettors replaced by a triplet from Weber. Also, the seller says the head is the only non-matching number mechanical part, this probably happened because the original one broke due to heavy use. The real bad news though is about the body which needs a lot of work to repair the rust but this is offset by two positives: the gorgeous colors and the fact that the car looks complete with all its parts. find it for sale at $69,500 here in Astoria, NY.
