Red and gold: 1959 Lancia Appia Convertibile by Vignale

Many moons have passed since this car was in driveable conditions, much more since it looked almost new. What remains of this car is something which needs a full restoration.

First of all we don’t understand exactly in what color it was originally painted: we guess some shade of gold but there are also some traces of red on the driver side fender: the “gold” would have been an uncommon choice but for sure much rarer and “out of the box” than red.

The car, however, is not a rust bucket: sure it needs a lot of work but no more than these kind of projects. The problems are mostly related to the parts that are actually missing: seats, door panels, radiator, air cleaner, grill, windshield or rear bumper, plus some interior trims which are even more difficult to find. Anyway, as usual, that’s always about price. Find it for sale here in Costa Mesa, CA, with bidding at $2,000 and no reserve price.
