The strange thing about this Porsche 356 is that it’s an italian delivery car: that would not be strange for an italian car but it’s odd to see a 356 imported from Italy; indeed Porsche sold more than the 50% of its 356 production to the U.S.A.
As an italian car, it has some features typical of the Euro models: of course the metric gauges, then the rear light reflectors which have been pt under the rear bumper, differently from the U.S. ones which were installed above the taillights. By the way, this car should also have the side turn lights on the front fenders (same height of the door handle), but on this car they have been blanked.
This car was born in a classic silver with red interiors: a timeless color combo which should be maintained when the car goes under restoration. The car needs a lot of work but, if the auction ends at a reasonable asking price (also because it has a correct engine but it’s not a matching numbers unit). Find it for sale here in Ravena, NY, with bidding at $13,000 and reserve not met.
