Another TR3 today, this time however it has been dressed by Vignale upon Michelotti’s design and it is much rarer than a common TR3.
We know these cars first of all because in the past we’ve restored one, then because it’s not the first Italia 2000 published here. For sure this one (Vignale body #234) is one of the most solid Italia to restore seen so far and, last but not least, it’s (almost) complete.
The seller says that this was titled in Georgia in 1969 and stored since the eightes as one rod snapped, now it’s painted in a kind of dark red but we guess that it’s not the original color or, at least, it has been repainted as the rear lights shells have been painted (they should be chromed). The good is that interiors are complete with all the trims even though the seats have been rehupolstered with a wrong material, the only issue we see here is that the original grille isn’t with the car anymore but, apart from this, it seems a great restoration candidate. Find it for sale at $55,000 here in San Luis Obispo, CA.
