When eng. Stanzani, back then chief engineer at Lamborghini, was asked to talk about the Jarama, he said “I made a car according to my taste: that was a mistake”. Now you can like this car or not but, for sure, it will never go unnoticed.
The truth is that the Jarama was a grat tourer capable, in the “S” version, to reach a top speed of 265 kph thanks to its mighty V12, dohc engine fed by a bunch of two throat Weber carburetors which were so thirsty the the car was equipped with a 100l (26.5 gallons) fuel tank.
This particular car is, indeed, a Jarama S in its later series so it isn’t equipped with knock-offs but with a five bolt magnesium wheels; also the interiors are slightly different from the first series but not in desperate conditions. No photos of the engine unfortunately and sae for the gearbox which is out of the car. This is not a cheap car to restore but, in the end, this is one of the last Lamborghini still pushed by the engine designed by Bizzarrini. Find it for sale at $97,500 here in Astoria, NY.
