It has been a long time since we published a 356 to restore, and the main reason is that these project are becoming rarer and rarer as almost all the barn finds have been trailed out of their barns. However, as this car demonstrates, there is still something out there.
This car is a model year 1954 356 cabriolet, one of the few made that year and painted in the rare “Auratium Green” shade, probably our favorite color on a 356 and, at the same time, maybe the rarest color to find on one of these cars.
These car, needless to say, needs a lot of work. Starting from the floors which are said to be replaced in the late seventies with two plain metal sheets; the engine is just an empty case and basically what you see in the photos is everything you’ll get: however seats, steering wheel and the rare soft top frame come with the car and that’s a good thing.
