It’s getting so hard to see a car like this, still needing of a restoration, that when we found it that’s a nice day.
Indeed this is a rare Abarth 750 Spier by Allemano, an aluminium little sports car mostly used, back then, to race accross a track (in the U.S.A.) while in Europe it was mostly used to be driven on roads, especially if narrow and twisty. It was born with a 750 cc Fiat-derived engine, than tuned by Abarth.
This car needs a total restoration but it’s not a bad basis to start from: some rare parts like the clocks and the steering wheel are still with the car, and also the engine could be correct: for sure it has an Abarth sump, but it’s not enough to verify if the engine is correct. This car has been used on tracks, we see it from the roll bar behind the driver seat, so it need basically every interior trim which is not easy to find but, at the end of the day, the true pleasure is in the hunt. Find it for sale at €22,500 (today $24,500) here in De Lier, The Netherlands.
