Unicorn: 1982 Volvo 244 Turbo

We don’t normally publish such “new” cars, however there are times when you need to make exceptions, like in this case, and for good reason.

As you can see this is a very normal four door Volvo 244 Turbo as many of us have seen around, yet this is different: it has not been restored or simply kept well by its previous owners but it is an unused car since 1996 that has 23,760 kilometers. original, and this low mileage is seen everywhere.

The Volvos of that era were characterized by excellent build quality, so even a car with 200,000 kilometers would look in good condition, but this one looks in fact new: the dashboard is perfect, the engine compartment and the engine itself is clean, the Redwood Metallic paint glitters and there doesn’t seem to be even a hint of rust. Obviously, before putting it back on strata after almost 30 years, some mandatory works were done: the fuel tank, pump, float and filter were replaced, the master cylinder was renewed and all brake calipers overhauled. The injection system has been cleaned ultrasonically and the actual seller replaced also the timing belt, spark plug wires, and spark plugs with with original Volvo parts, along with replacing tires and fluids. There is only a small dent on the left rear fender, just above the taillight. Cheap? No, but I dare you to find another one like this. Find it for sale at €39,750 (today $38,100) here in Aalst, Belgium.
