This is really a strange car and perplexes us for several reasons, starting with the bodywork that it is very familiar to us.
In fact, as many of you have already suspected, this is a body already seen elsewhere: it was taken integrally from a Ghia 1500 Coupé, built from 1965 to 1967, and adapted on a chassis and engine of a Renault R177 (also known as R17); if you look at the dashboard, it is clear that even this belongs to the donor car. However, there is something else that we do not understand.
The seller says that the engine is a 1300 cc but, as far as we know, the R177 was produced only with a 1500cc engine: if we are wrong, do not hesitate to correct us. The result of all this is evident: the track is too wide for the body and the wheels slightly overhang the latter, the nose has been modified in an approximate way but, on the other side, the steering wheel is extraordinary. Find it for sale at €120,000 (today $136,000) here in Torino, Italy.
Who on Earth would pay anything near that asking price?
