Red and low: 1961 Lancia Appia Sport by Zagato

The last evolution of the sports cars built by Zagato on a Lancia Appia base is the Sport, also known as “swb” and, apparently, designed by Ercole Spada. Swb as the wheelbase had been shortened by 16cm but, apart from that, this model also differed aesthetically in other aspects including the front and other details such as the handles no longer flush but applied externally.

The car presented here seems to have been restored by KCA: many of you may not know it, but no one in the world beat this workshop as regards the restoration of the Lancia. The car shows a sparkling red paint scheme combined with black wheels: a very aggressive and “racing” combination. However, the lack of bumpers and door handles is evident. Too bad there are no photos of the interior and the engine compartment, but we believe it is an easily overcome gap. Find it for sale at €150,000 (today $178,000) here in Pioltello, Italy.
