Do your homework: 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce

The seller of this Giulia Spider Veloce (chassis #AR*390252) says that this car still needs a lot of work so it’s important that everyone does his homework before bidding.

Apparently this car has what it takes to be an eBay hit: a rare car (little more than 1,000 made), a dry body which also has benefitted of a partial metalwork involving the floor replacement plus other metal sheets, a lot of trims which come with the car and so on, there is a problem though.

That is, unfortunately, the lack of the original engine: the seller says that this car comes with a 1,600 c.c. which is a type 112: this is not the correct engine as the Giulia Veloce had the engine type 00121, the same engine of the Giulia Sprint Speciale. The engine type 00121, among all the Alfa variants were made in little more than 2,000 units, so it’s not easy at all to find. However, the car has already an engine to use so you have time before finding a correct one. Find it for sale here in Daytona Beach, FL, with bidding at $21,000 and reserve not met.

  1. This Veloce is in my register. Trying to find a 64 Veloce engine is going to be hard and require a deep pocket. They come up now and again. Everything is available to restore a 101 Veloce, so don’t let that scare you of. The rear deck script is the rarest part the says veloce. The value is going up on these cars now that the market knows how rare they are. Get this, restore it, and enjoy the drive.
