This car seems to be the object of an experiment under which two cars had to be mixed.

The shell belongs to a Fiat 1500 Ghia, a cute coupé designed by Sartorelli for Ghia and built by Ghia coachworks in 846 units between 1964 and 1967: the mechanical components came of course from the Fiat 1500 series while the chassis was made by a monocoque body merged to a front tubolar chassis made by Gilco.

This particular car has been modified in order to accomodate a twin-cam 2000 cc Alfa engine and, hard to believe, an Alfa “heart” in the middle of the front grille. Although we hate this kind of experiments on these cars, we must say that this project has not been brought forward in a “recreational” way: everything seems to be done with a such accurate approach (see the sketch in the ad); then, finding a correct engine shouldn’t be an hard job but the next owner must pray that all the interiors trims are with the car, otherwise many headaches are coming. He also should consider that the Maserati Ghibli (and Mistral) steering wheel actually installed is worth a lot of money.
