#95: 1960 Triumph Italia 2000 Coupé by Vignale

One of the best things of the classic cars hobby is that your certainties are continuously questioned. In this particular case, just when we thought to know (or, at least, to have seen) all the Italia 2000 survived so far, here is another one that pops out from darkness.

We will not pull out about the Ruffino S.p.A. and Italia 2000 history (just check here or here); we just have to reiterate that, according to all car historians, 329 cars were made between 1959 and 1962 (some cars were sold later, in 1963) and this particular car is the Vignale body #95. Unfortunately the seller provides only three – bad quality – photos, but we can however realize that all the external trims are there (with the exception of the “Italia 2000” badge on the nose, replaced by the “Triumph” steel letters) and that this car would need a complete restoration as it paid its due to time and rust. The car has still its first registration black plate (good) but there aren’t any photos of the interiors (bad). Useless to say that if some interior trim is lost you must rebuild it from scratch as you’ll have no chances to find it aftermarket. Braves can find it for sale at €35,000 (today $47,000) here in Nettuno, Italy.
