This Giulietta Spider offers an attractive package for its future owner: it is a short-wheelbase model, originally painted black with red interior, and most importantly, it is one of the first 100 units produced—specifically chassis number 56.
Moreover, its future owner will have the unique bragging rights of owning a car built in the same year as its chassis number, one of the lowest ever seen so far. Years ago, we spotted an even lower number from an example for sale in Mexico, but nothing else has come this close in terms of chassis sequence. Of course, the color combination is equally noteworthy—black exterior with a red interior—not only a stunning pairing but also a rare one.
The car appears to be fairly complete, with no significant missing parts, which is already a great starting point. Nowadays, NOS parts available for sale are extremely expensive, while reproduction parts are of a build quality that could euphemistically be described as poor. The condition of the bodywork remains unknown—although it looks generally acceptable in the photos—but this remains the biggest question mark in any restoration project. Find it for sale at €64,500 (today $68,000) here in Savona, Italy.
