This 356 SC is no longer in the possession of the previous owner as it has been confiscated and auctioned off on July 20: it is rare to find classic cars that suffer this fate.
It must be said that in recent years the SCs have experienced a surge in prices but in particular the Cabriolets, perhaps due to the reduced number of units produced, have basically doubled their values of ten years ago and find one in running conditions at less than $150k is extremely difficult.
This car – according to the Porsche certificate – appears to have been born in the same color as the photos show, although the interior was originally red. The engine is not the original one but the certificate states that in 1967 it has been replaced by the factory but from the photos there is no way to see if the one currently installed has a number that matches the one shown on the certificate. Otherwise the car seems like a very good driver. Find it for sale here in Genova, Italy, with a starting price of €79,000 (today $85,000)
