Here is one of the 1091 Giulia Spider Veloce built: this is the rarest version of the Alfa Romeo Spiders in the decade between the mid-50s and mid-60s.
This version summarized the best of Alfa’s experience with the spiders, made up to that moment: 1600 cc engine capacity, dedicated cams, two Weber DCOE 2 carburettors, front disc brakes and a five-speed gearbox: you could not ask for much more than that from a spider.
This specimen was restored about ten years ago and still looks good: the level of restoration looks good, however it has some details that can be improved: incorrect spark plug cables, underbody painted in black, the cover of the fresh air plenum for the passenger compartment it is missing and then a common mistake: the front grille seals that overflow. In any case, it’s about the details. Find it for sale here in Portland, OR, with bidding at $45,000 and reserve not met.
