This model, the Carrera 1500 GS, is the Holy Grail of the 356A Coupé family, but unfortunately it lacks something.
And, unfortunately, that something that is missing is also the thing that differentiates it from the other “common” 356A: the “Fuhrmann” engine, equipped with double overhead camshafts and dual ignition which, in the 1956 version, could produce 100ps, which they were by no means a few 60 years ago.
However, as they said before, the original engine is gone, replaced by a normal pushrod 356 engine. The color of the car is very nice with the green interior in which two Speedster-type seats stand out, but if you want a proper engine get ready to shell out at least 200k dollars more. Find it for sale at $465,000 here in Los Angeles, CA.
