Cheap and chic/2: 1964 Renault Caravelle

ScreenShot001Actually you can imagine that a project under 1K is a joke or, at least, a parts car or a rust bucket but this case seems pretty different.

It’s a 1964 Renault Caravelle which is said to be off the road and stored since the mid ‘70s but it’s owned by the actual seller since ten years ago, when the engine ran after having replaced the coil.

The photos show a wet car probably because before washing it the car was covered with one finger of dust: the car looks complete and pretty solid at all. Then the seller says that the clutch works well but that many other parts like brakes need a rebuild. Actually we find that this project is extremely interesting given the asking price and the car itself (it’s still a cabrio with the original hardtop) looks like a very good starting point for a restoration. Find it for sale at $975 (without title) here in Lake County, CA.
