Just when we think that top cars barn finds are finished, here it is another one popped out from a garage in UK.
It’s an Aston Martin DB2/4 which ran for only 12 years after it was bought new in UK, then it was put in storage and it never saw the light again until the actual seller found it. We don’t know if the gun laying on the dashboard is there since then, however it’s a nice touch.
Actually the conditions of this car look exceptional, especially when you think at the wet climate of UK; often such conditions don’t forgive anything even if stored in an enclosed space. The paint is dull but it’s almost perfect and you really must seriously think if to restore it or just fix the mechanicals and let the rest of the car as it is. The asking price is for the car completely restored, so we suppose that the car as is could be worth at least £100K less than that. Find it for sale at £235,000 (today $351,000) here in Cirencester, UK.
Magnificent. The respray may preclude its inclusion in most preservation classes at the concours, but I still would do nothing but a mechanical restoration. Imagine seeing this thing passing you at twilight on a country lane. Great find!
