Miss you grandpa: 1965 Porsche 911

This 1965 Porsche 911 belongs to the very rare bunch of Porsche type “901”: we would never have known these Porsches as “911” if Peugeot did not claim its copyrights on the three digits with a zero in the middle. So, what we have here is a very rare ’65 911 covered with a lot of dust on which someone wrote “I miss you granpa Irwin”.

The car looks honestly original even if, unfortunately, the engine is not the original unit: that’s bad as it could be very difficult and expensive to find a correct engine for this car but, like for every other matter, time and money always can work it out. However, with the exception of the corroded metal near the rear light (driver side), the car looks enough dry.

Interiors still show the veneer dashboard inserts and the beautiful early steering wheel, along with the five clocks styled with the same look of its predecessor, the 356. This car is not cheap but the train of these cars is going to leave the station, so catch one before it’s too late. Find it for sale at $69,500 here in Los Angeles, CA.
