Broken arrow: 1948 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Freccia d’Oro

This Golden Arrow (Freccia d’Oro) has certainly seen better days and is waiting for someone to take on the task of rescuing it from its current miserable state.

The car is for sale in Italy, but we believe, or at least we have a feeling, that this is a relic from South America. Argentina, Venezuela, and Uruguay were countries where, from the post-war period until the 1960s, many luxury Italian cars found their way. Many were lost, several have been saved over the past 40 years, and a few still need attention.

The seller says this is one of the 12 examples with a sunroof: the opening mechanism is still there. The Certificate of Origin reveals that the car was originally Emerald Green, a very beautiful and rare color; we seem to still see glimpses of green inside. The seller says that the front and rear lights are missing but that the car is matching numbers. That said, the path to restoring it to its former glory will be a long one. Find it for sale here in Milano, Italy.
