Pilot’s car: 1950 Lancia Aurelia B50 by Vignale

It is not unusual to find a Lancia Aurelia, built in the immediate post-war period, which has a special body, and this car is an example.

Obviously, “it is not unusual” does not mean that you can find one at every street corner, in particular if the car was commissioned by the Italian driver Giovanni Bracco, a very good driver who raced for Maserati, Lancia, Bandini and Ferrari, winning the 1950 Mille Miglia for the latter, at the wheel of a 250 S. It was probably given this car just before this victory.

Lancia used to sell the naked chassis of the B50, 51 and 52 series to the coachbuilders, and the latter prepared them on order of their wealthy customers, so it is difficult to find two perfectly equal cars. This beautiful B50, characterized by the low profile of the roof, has a license plate from 1951 and is in very good condition. The paint is certainly not original but we believe that a good part of the car is, and the most extraordinary thing is the presence of hubcaps, we don’t know if the original and reconstructed ones, used on many luxury cars of that era. Find it for sale at €159,000 (today $178,000) here in Nice, France.
