The Fiat 1100 S Berlinetta belongs to the small group of competition-derived cars with which Fiat returned to major international road racing immediately after the war. Developed under Dante Giacosa, the 1100 S combined heavily revised mechanicals with a streamlined body conceived for events such as the Mille Miglia. This 1948 evolution received aluminium coachwork produced by Fiat Carrozzerie Speciali, and the seller states that only twenty examples of this version were built, with individual differences between cars. Power comes from the 1,089 cc four-cylinder engine, coupled to a four-speed manual gearbox.  

This particular car was first registered on 5 November 1948 and has a documented competition connection: according to the accompanying FIVA Pass, it participated in the 1950 Mille Miglia, while it returned to the event in its historic form in 2008. The seller reports that it changed hands around ten times before 1961, after which it disappeared from circulation and was eventually rediscovered under dust in the premises of a Turin coachbuilder. Importantly, it is presented as an unrestored car, retaining its original body, mechanical components and interior, as well as matching numbers and colours. Its history was also examined by Ruoteclassiche, which road-tested the car and published a dossier on it in 1997.  

The photographs support the impression of a remarkably coherent surviving car rather than a freshly reconstructed competition special. Details such as the simple cabin, period instrumentation, enclosed rear wheels and aluminium Berlinetta body are central to its character. The seller states that only routine maintenance has been performed and that the car received a complete service in 2025. It is accompanied by a FIVA Pass confirming its Mille Miglia history, documentation relating to the 2008 participation and an ASI certificate.
