The Matra M530 (in this case in the “LX” version) is a particular car: you love it or you hate it but it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. This car is the French equivalent of the Fiat X1/9 or the Volkswagen-Porsche 914.
Surely among the three cars the M530 is the worst one, for reasons related both to aesthetics and mechanics, yet it has its way. The body is in fiberglass to limit its weight (830 kgs – 1,829 pounds) while the engine is a 1,775 c.c. V4 Ford that produces 73 hp: not much indeed, but who drove it when it came out reported excellent dynamic capabilities.
The car for sale is an LX model and, the seller says, is a preserved car that shows the normal signs of the time; we do not know if the black stripes are original but for sure we remember seeing other M530 painted in the same shade of yellow, even if there are no photos of the cockpit or the undercarriage, it still seems a car that does not need much work, maybe it is yet ready to be driven. Find it for sale at €15,000 (today $17,500) here in Canosa di Puglia, Italy.
