Missing something: 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE

F1

A classic Ferrari in a garage or a barn is of course the dream of every classic cars nut, only to discover that Ferrari is missing its engine and transmission.

F2

That is indeed the destiny of this car which, sometime in the past, became to be transformed into something different from what it as been before: the front end has been partially modified and the engine and transmission were removed, probably to make room to an american V8.

F3

Or, maybe, they were removed in order to be fixed but somehow both have been lost or simply sold to someone who needed a spare engine and a transmission: today you need, if you’re lucky, more than $100k to buy a correct engine, and something less than the half of that for a correct transmission. We don’t know if the car has still its bumpers but, apart from this, it looks “complete”. Find it for sale at $139,500 here in Astoria, NY.
