Tiny with character: 1957 Fiat 500B “Barchetta”

We doubt this car was built in 1957: indeed the plate is from that year but very probably this car was built not later than 5/7 years after the end of WWII.

As many other similar cars, this one is a racer built on a “Topolino” platform in order to join all the road races of that period: of course the goal ws not to beat Ferrari, Maserati or Alfa but to reach the victoy in the 500-750 cc class: they often were built by unknown coachbuilders so it’s almost impossible to find out who built this one.

This car is said to be restored and to have an engine fed by a compressor: please if you are able to spot it in the engine bay tell us where it is. It has also a very nice set of Borrani wire wheels and a cute split windshield: this car is not a tire burner but for sure it has tons of character. Find it for sale at €55,000 (today $63,500) here in Pegognaga, Italy.
