Muscles in disguise: 1969 Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3

This Mercedes was, back then, the top notch car that money could buy, if you were looking for a four door car.

Indeed it was extremely expensive: it wa sone of the favourite car of the Formula one drivers of the late sixties: a 6.3 litre V8 engine producing 250 hp and a ton of torque mated to a four speed automatic gearbox (the only four speed on the market) and air suspension: it was indeed more a spaceship than a car.

This car is said to have been sold new in France and it has been always garaged and cared by a Mercedes-Benz specialist: in our opinion the car has been repainted at least once but interiors, featuring a beautiful wrinkled leather, are clearly original. There are not photos of the undercarriage but we know well that these are very solid cars, generally not prone to rust if they have been stored well during the years. Also the engine is so solid that it could be installed in a tank, but often the air suspensions system has troubles and never forget that the parts for these classic Mercedes are expensive as hell. Find it for sale at €24,900 (today $31,000) here in Pontoise, France.
