The talented Mr. Rapley: 1959 Abarth 750 Double Bubble by Zagato

Mr. Rapley, the seller of this car, often delights us with some italian classics of ’50’s and ’60’s era. This time he’s got for sale this 1959 Abarth DB which is not in concours conditions, but in a more fascinating used car look. The metal seems in very good conditions all over the car, both above and under, where you can see the original floor pans.

Interiors are used but correct, with the exception of the Smiths speedometer. Seats are not original but fit well with the overall racing look. The presence of a roll bar is the sign of a racing past: this car comes with a couple of log books.

Engine is said to have correct head and oil pan (so it’s not a matching number car) and that its displacement has been growth to 812 c.c. This is a nice car indeed, which can be find for sale here in Bethel, CT, with bidding just above $40,000 and reserve price not met.
