Chassis no. 824.13.3182 is an authentic Flaminia Sport 2.5 3C, one of only 174 examples believed to have been built, representing the transition from the Aurelia’s refined engineering to Lancia’s new era under Carlo Pesenti. Designed by Antonio Fessia, the Flaminia Sport retained the rear transaxle and V6 layout while adopting an all-alloy engine block and a sleek, aerodynamic aluminum body by Zagato, complete with the iconic double-bubble roof and Borrani bi-metal wheels.
The car’s early history remains unknown, as the vendor provides no information prior to 1969, when it was first registered in the United Kingdom to Basil Browne of Henley-on-Thames. It was later owned by Michael Hentall of Southampton in 1970, and then by Barry Clayton of Brierley Hill, West Midlands, who kept it at St. Paul’s Garage in Birmingham from 1973. Photographs taken by Lancia Motor Club historian Paul Mayo at Loughborough and Donington in July 1978 show the car still in active use, complete and wearing its period fittings.
On 5 December 1981, the Flaminia was acquired by the current owners directly from St. Paul’s Garage and placed into long-term storage, where it has remained for over forty years. The car is largely complete and retains what is believed to be its original 2.5-litre V6 engine, although the triple-Weber carburettor setup typical of the 3C version is missing. What makes this example truly remarkable is that it has never been restored. In an era when most Flaminia Sports have been repainted, retrimmed, or re-engineered, this car survives as an extraordinary reference point — an invaluable document of originality for historians, collectors, and also anyone planning the restoration of a similar model. Find it for sale at £80,000 (today $105,000) here in Hartley Wintney, UK.
