Nakai’s job: 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupé RWB

The 1990 Porsche 911/964-based “Rauh Welt Begriff” (RWB) is a rare automotive experiment that combines striking aesthetics with raw performance. This particular model is the RWB Europe #7.

At its core, this RWB Porsche is a 1990 Porsche 911/964 Carrera 2, extensively modified to produce over 300 BHP. The engine has been fully rebuilt, incorporating a racing crankshaft and a 993 air intake system. The calibrated APP stainless exhaust system ensures the 3.6 Carrera 2 flat-six engine operates at peak performance. Stopping power comes from 964 Turbo brake systems, while a fully adjustable JRZ suspension and custom-made PUR wheels wrapped in Toyo Triple Air tires. Equipped with a Porsche 964 RS clutch system and a fully revised gearbox, this car offers seamless gear transitions suitable for both track and road. An air lift system on the front wheels allows it to navigate urban environments with ease.

The exterior of this RWB Porsche is a true testament to Akira Nakai’s creativity. Nakai, the founder of Rauh Welt Begriff, personally supervised the installation of the custom RWB body kit and the handling setup. The result is a smoothed-out body kit finished in Grand Prix white, complemented by a 3.8 RS wing and PUR wheels. The aesthetic appeal of this car is undeniable. Inside, the car retains elements of the original 964 while incorporating essential race-ready features. Lightweight carbon Recaro seats and removable wheel have been added. The standard Porsche 964 clocks remain, augmented by a kill switch and a certified racing roll cage for added safety. Nakai’s involvement in both the body kit installation and handling setup ensures that this RWB Porsche embodies the perfect fusion of form and function.
