Cheap and chic / 2: 1955 Fiat 600 Coupé by Viotti

We didn’t know that as early as ’54 Viotti was already building these small coupés based on the Fiat 600. In fact, we have verified that the first Fiat 600s were delivered in 1955, so we doubt that this car could date back to ’54, as the seller claims.

This is the “Coupé” version, much more beautiful and graceful than the “Granluce” sister, which indeed has four seats but also features a more squared roof that significantly worsened its aesthetic appearance. In fact, the latter is also worth less commercially than the little sister we see here. Although, we suspect that, despite looking fine at first glance, this car needs a complete restoration.

But the reason we published it is the price: even assuming it needs a full restoration, the asking price allows for a good margin for restoration work that wouldn’t end up being overly expensive. We are still talking about a body just over three meters long. So, if this car is genuinely for sale at this price, don’t hesitate: you might regret it in the future. Find it for sale at €10,450 (today $11,300) here in Gent, Belgium. Thanks to Fluc for this tip!
