Green team: 1956 Fiat 1100 Barchetta by Autotecnica del Lario

The sleek lines of this Fiat Barchetta are very appealing but at the same time left us a bit puzzled: it seemed strange that the body was made in 1956, and indeed, that’s not the case.

The seller mentions that this was initially a Barchetta built in 1956 on a Fiat 1100 base, but then the original body was replaced in 1966 with an aluminum one handmade by Giorgio Greppi, founder of the ATL coachbuilder, known among enthusiasts especially for creating some very faithful replicas of the Alfa 33 Stradale during the 80s and 90s. Years ago, we also published an unfinished body made in his workshop.

This car incorporates many typical styling elements of the 1950s “Sport” cars: minimalist interior, thin doors, strangely sourced wheels from a Fiat 500 (B or C) and not from a Fiat 1100. However, the most interesting element of this car is undoubtedly the “Testadoro” hemispherical chamber head, which probably alone is worth a quarter of the car, as it is extremely rare. Find it for sale at €99,950 (today $108,000) here in Waalwijk, Netherlands. Thanks to Fluc for this tip!
