Although this car is rare and, basically, unknown to most people – even to classic cars enthusiasts – this is not the first Sovam we publish.
As already mentioned here, Sovam was founded in France in 1930 and specialized in mobile building shop kiosks based on light truck platforms: this model has inherited many components of the Renault 4 as its donor car’s front mid-engine, front wheel drive layout and fully independent suspensions. Unlike what was published last year, this seems in better condition.
First of all, it has polycarbonate shells on the headlights, a not insignificant detail as these were paid optionals and, often, were eliminated after they became opaque or cracked. Then the general aspect of the car which seems very correct and not very “improved” as has often happened over the years. Find it for sale at €20,000 (today $22,000) here in Pompaire, France.
