This car is not only the same model used by Lieutenant Columbo in the homonymous TV series, but it also seems to be painted in a similar color and in very similar conditions.

It is a Peueot 403 Cabriolet, built from 1958 to 1960 by Pininfarina in little more than 2000 specimens, of which some tens still survive. In the past we have published other 403 Cabriolets for sale but none of those were in conditions “barn find” like this specimen that, at least from its appearance, seems to have been abandoned in a shed for a few decades.

Much dust and many spider webs then, however what is hidden under these layers of organic patina looks promising: the photos are not in high resolution but the car seems complete and very solid. Indeed we do not exclude that, after a thorough cleaning, a revision of all the mechanical parts, and the repair of the front seats (at least the passenger one), the car could be driven as it is.
