The Auto Union 1000 MilleSpecial was part of a series of vehicles produced in limited numbers and was often associated with the creativity of post-war automotive design. The model was manufactured in Argentina under license by Industrias Automotriz de Santa Fe (IASFe) between 1960 and 1970, and Carrozzeria Fissore developed the Coupé and Spyder “1000 SE” versions based on the German “1000 Sp” . These cars were distinct from other Auto Union models, featuring a more elegant body, one-piece front bumpers, longer wrap-around bumpers, and chrome strips on the doors. The MilleSpecial stands out for its unique design elements that diverged from the visual cues of the Ford Thunderbird, giving it a distinctive Italian flair that makes it highly sought after by collectors today. This MilleSpecial was originally purchased new in Rome and has remained there ever since, still bearing its original “Roma” registration plates, making it a fascinating piece of local automotive history. This car is said to be in original, unrestored condition, preserving all the character and craftsmanship from the time it rolled out of the Carrozzeria Fissore workshop. The fact that it has had only one owner since new adds to its allure, making it an authentic collector’s item. Of couse more photo would have been a nice addition to the ad. Find it for sale at €39,000 (today $42,500) here in Torino, Italy.
