LWB project: 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider

This Giulietta Spider presents a balanced mix of both negative and positive aspects.

The negative aspects are clearly related to the need for a complete restoration, as nothing appears to be usable in its current state. Another downside is that this is a long-wheelbase version, which places it at the bottom of the valuation rankings within the Giulia/Giulietta Spider family. Therefore, a top-notch full restoration would likely cost more than the finished car’s value.

On the positive side, the asking price is quite low, and in our (possibly flawed) opinion, the car is in better condition than it appears at first glance. Apart from surface rust, it seems relatively dry, solid, and most importantly, it appears to be a car that has never been abused with accidents or creative modifications. It is also fairly complete. One particular detail to pay attention to is the presence of the convertible top frame, a very expensive replacement part to find on the market. Ultimately, it is up to the new owner to decide whether to purchase this vehicle as a parts car (hopefully not), a home restoration project, or an (unlikely) top-tier restoration. Find it for sale at $12,500 here in San José, CA.
