Signed berlinetta: 1970 Abarth Scorpione 1300 S

We have already featured some Abarth Scorpione, including the extremely rare SS version; however, it is always rare to come across one for sale.

This is because not only today but also back then, it was an expensive car, probably one of the most expensive considering the price-to-weight ratio. It is indeed a small car, but it has the advantage of weighing only 600 kg (1322 lbs), so the 1300cc engine delivering 75 horsepower is more than sufficient to make it a nimble and agile car.

The seller states that this matching numbers vehicle has been signed by Arturo Merzario, a legendary Italian driver whose career spanned from the late 1960s to the early 1980s, and who was closely associated with Abarth (among other manufacturers). The driver doesn’t add much more beyond this and the fact that this car comes with its original booklet; having said that, the excellent condition of the car is evident, and it deserves to be inspected in person with your trusted expert. Find it for sale at €90,000 (today $98,500) here in Brescia, Italy.
