Dry ivory: 1967 Alfa Romeo Spider 1600

Seeing an unrestored and basically rust-free 1967 Alfa is a rare event, yet it does happen once in a while.

Now, we are only deducing this from the photos provided by the seller but at a cursory glance it seems that this car has not paid too much toll over the passage of time, perhaps because it has lived in a basically dry climate like that of California, the state in which it is now.

It has been repainted only once in its original color – which we believe to be the Paglierino (“straw”), i.e. a shade of ivory, very popular in the late sixties – while the interiors still look like the original ones, and by the way looks intact. The soft top is said to still be in good shape and the engine bay still appears to have all of its parts correct. Last but not least, the seller (who we don’t know if he is also the owner) says this car has been in its current owner’s possession for 44 years. Find it for sale at $37,500 here in Auburn, CA.
