Rare RHD: 1965 Bristol 409

It is already a rare British car in itself, as only 74 were built (according to Wikipedia).

It is certainly a car that was sold at a very high price as, according to the seller, it cost $12,000 at the time, equivalent to $116,000 today, so it was a high-end car in an era in which high-end customers were much fewer than today: this is also the cause of such low production numbers. As with other European luxury cars of the 1960s, this one relied on an American engine, in this case a 318 ci (5,200 cc) Chrysler V8, which was powerful, reliable and relatively cheap to service.

The seller wrote (seems written like a poem) that this car – aluminum bodied – has only done 33k miles since new and has been stored for many years. There are no further photos and the interior is not visible, the hubcaps and steel side trims are missing, but we assume that, as few know these cars, a valuable resource is the Bristol Owners Club without whose help it is perhaps impossible to do a proper restoration. Find it for sale at $28,000 here in Clayton, CA.
