Another day, another spider, another Alfa Romeo. But this time it’s the bigger sister of the one released on Monday.
It is in fact a 2000 Spider designed and built not at the Portello factory, but at the Touring body shop which, at the time of production of this model, was a 20-minute walk away. This was probably due to the fact that it wasn’t worth occupying a production line for a car which, right from the start, was known to be produced in a small number of examples, given the use for which it was intended and the high cost.
Like the Giulietta released on Monday, this car is also in California, from where it was imported to Italy. Two things in particular about this Spider amaze us: the first is the condition, apparently very good. It looks like the typical barn find, a car probably used up to thirty years ago (at best) and then parked indoors. There appear to be no dents or missing partes of note, although there are no photos of the engine bay. The second thing is the color combo: it would appear to be silver with a red interior, a very beautiful pair never seen before on a car like this: we wonder if it is original as the color palette for these models was very limited. Quite surely the seats were originally black, but you never know. Find it for sale at €56,000 (today $60,000) here in Pompei (yes, that Pompeii), Italy.
