We don’t remember exactly how many cars like this we’ve posted in ten years, but this should be the second or third, tops.
This is because it is an extremely rare car like all the cars built to order by the Italian car ateliers of the 1950s: In this case it is the Monterosa bodywork, founded in 1946 in Turin but had a very short life: in 1961 its adventure was already over, and consequently very few cars were built.
This is therefore a small but rare pearl which, unlike those seen in previous years, seems to be in truly excellent condition: the combination of the two-tone paintwork is very elegant, it generally looks like a restored or very well maintained car that still has the hubcaps originals and the black plate. Beautiful. Find it for sale at €22,000 (today $23,000) here in Merano, Italy.
I continue to be amazed at just how many beautiful Italian coachbuilt cars were constructed on the FIAT 600 chassis. Here in North America the 600 was known as a cheap little car, not worthy of such efforts.
