Have you ever parked your car for 53 years? Someone did it because he bought a new car.
In the past it happened – in southern Italy – that the wealthiest families did not trade-in the old car for a new one as this would have appeared in the eyes of the people as a difficulty in being able to afford a new car: consequently the old car was parked in a barn or garage and often, simply, forgotten.
Now, we do not know if this destiny has come to this Borgward but, as this was a rather expensive car, and owned by a southern family (it still has the original plate), and that the seller says it was parked due to purchase of a new car, we can say that the profile corresponds. Time has left its mark but the car seems exceptionally original, never vandalized and probably very little would be enough to get it started again (without restoring it, of course). Find it for sale at €10,000 (today $11,000) here in Roma, Italy.
