This car has made a long trip to South Africa, where it is now, and now it needs a lot of cares to shine again. It is a Simca Aronde Plein Ciel, a beautiful coupé with a body made by Facel.
The seller says that this car has just moved from a long time storage and that it has superficial rust. Indeed the rust doesn’t look extremely bad but we should have seen some undercarriage photos. Interiors look original even if, at least from the driver side, it seems that the passenger door panel is missing.
The seller says that the engine is original and, actually, this is the most powerful of the option offered back then by Simca: it’s a “Rush Super” which produced 62 h.p., more than the 52 h.p. offered by the weaker option, the “Flash Special”. There are some other parts missing like the headlights trims but the car is a good candidate for a total restoration. Find it for sale at £4,900 (today $8,000) here in Johannesburg, South Africa.
