This 1970 Abarth 595 is based on a Fiat 500L which is recognizable from the “classic” door opening system. Indeed early cars had suicide doors, but you won’t find them easily on the market. This particular car should be a recent italian import as we can spot the front black plate installed.

This car has some incorrect details: the dashboard is not correct as the 595 has the “stock” speedometer with a greater scale, the steering wheel isn’t correct too as it should be the standard Fiat 500 unit with two spokes. The good news is that the vinyl seats are still original (not the usual aftermarket race-wannabe seats) and the overall look is correct. The wheels too are aftermarket but period correct but the badge on the front lid is missing.

The seller doesn’t spend a word to describe the car but we think that’s a selling policy: a deep due diligence is necessary to check if VIN and engine numbers are consistent; if yes we have to say that the asking price is on the top end for this model but not so much expensive if all numbers are correct. Find it for sale at $39,373 (?) here in Santa Clara, CA.
